The Médoc AOC is part of the great Médoc region, famous for its grands crus classés classification of 1855.An AOC of red grape varieties, its mainly gravelly soil enables its flagship grape variety, the Cabernet Sauvignon, to attain optimal maturity, imparting structure and balance to its wines.
After a pre-fermentation maceration to extract the aromatic compounds from the skins, vinification is conducted at a controlled temperature. Carefully managed and adapted pumping-over operations enable optimal extraction of the polyphenols and anthocyanins. 8-10 months ageing allows the tannins to soften and gives the wine its intense, oaky character.
